Kahmul the Easterling

Kahmul is second in command of the nine. At the battle of Pelenor Fields he was up north fighting off the elves of Mirkwood. I painted him up the same as all the other ringwraiths but gave him gold armour instead of silver and painted his horse a little brighter than the other ring wraiths. Photobucket Photobucket

Radagast the Brown

I eventually want to paint up all 5 wizards that came to Middle Earth. I've got plastic Gandalf and now Radagast out of the way so 3 more to go. For Radagast I didn't like the light clothes and the dark cloak that GW had on their miniature so I inverted the color scheme and I personally like it better but honestly it's probably 6 in one hand and half a dozen in the other. Well enjoy the hippie nature wizard of Middle Earth. I'm pretty sure this guy is going to be in the Hobbit movie coming out soon.

Aragorn King Elessar

I got this mini off of ebay for an absolute steal. So I wanted a break from painting wave after wave of easterlings and thought he'd do nicely. I wanted to paint my Gondor force up using a navy blue so I thought this would be the perfect model to test the color scheme on. In the movies Aragorn rode a brown horse and I don't recall from the books what color it was. None of that mattered to me though, when your an OG pimp like Aragorn you only ride a white stallion.

Enjoy.

Adepticon LotR Championship Game 3

My 3rd game was against Jeff Reske. Jeff was Playing a Easterling force with Kahmul as his leader and mostly infantry with a couple of knights... So basically the same thing I was running.

We played on a generic board with trees and ancient ruined statues. It was very well done though. I don't think it was a specific spot from LotR's like many other boards. The mission was easy kill, Kill, KILL! With us having almost the exact same force I think it really just came down to dice rolls. I ended up winning a couple of key combats and the fact my Kahmul was mounted and his was walking around on foot gave me the edge and I pulled it out.

Over all I had fun at my first LotR event and won 1 out of 3 games as I was hoping. I'll look forward to attending more events int he future.

The game ends in my favor. Would the real slim Kahmul please stand up, please stand up.

Adepticon LotR Championship Game 2

So after my beating from the Chris and his Dwarfs I went on to play against his friend, Matt Beaty. Matt was running a very fluffy 2nd age elf list. The same list you would run if you were playing The last alliance battle. Gilgalad and Elrond leading a bunch of Kings Guard Elves. He had an extemely small force but it hit like a ton of bricks... Silky perfumed bricks!

We played on a Dwarven hall board that was really well done. The center of the board had 6 objectives. The tournament required us to bring 3 objectives each. I brought Frodo, Sam, and Pippin I had painted up to show that Kahmul and his easterlings were after the Ring for their master. Beaty had a treasure chest, some barrels, and a dead orc for his. The mission was to get the objectives and get them back to your side of the board. He got 5 and ran back and I only got 1. The game was shortly over after his elves chopped my poor humans to bits.

The Battle;

My Easterlings start in the dwarf hall.

Now after getting blown off the board twice onto game 3! :)

Adepticon LotR Championship Game 1

Where I live there isn't really any LotR players however I enjoy the models and have always been a Tolkien fan. So when I got to go to Adepticon 2012 and learned of the LotR event, I had to try and get in. Needless to say I did or I wouldn't be blogging about it. All the terrain was great and fully modeled and painted representing a host of different areas from middle earth to battle on.

My Army;
Kahmul the Easterling mounted
Captain with sword and shield
Captain with bow
4 Black Dragon Knights
2 Banners
A host of Easterling foot soldiers

Game 1 I played a guy named Chris Watson and his Dwarfs. His army was painted beautifully and on snow bases. Being my first event I got trounced as was to be expect but I had a blast anyways.
We played on the Dol Guldur board Here are some battle shots of the ass kicking;

The Start of Battle with my Easterling Black Dragon Knights following Kahmul the Ring Wraith. Photobucket
My archer ready to shot out of the forest on the Dwarfs. Photobucket
My battle line advances. Photobucket
The Dwarfs advance towards the center. Photobucket
My archers clearing out the right flank of his army. Photobucket
The battle line meets and chaos ensues. Photobucket
The Easterlings start to get thinned out from the sturdy dwarfs. Photobucket
About to loose, Kahmul decides to charge Dain Ironfoot to kill the leader and claim a moral victory. Photobucket
After getting crushed it's on to game 2!

The Fellowship of the Ring

I bought Mines of Moria boxed set about a year ago and within the last week I decided to go ahead and paint the Fellowship. So now I have the troll and the good guys painted on to the goblins.
